How does Geo
Redirect Work:
Geo Redirect is a fairly sophisticated
application however we have developed it in such
a way that anyone can use it. Geo Redirect Stands
out from all other applications since no other custom
coding is required to run Geo Redirect. Most other
applications on the net require users to have knowledge
of programming.
With
the need for a user friendly system, we have developed
technology that not only has the power of other systems
built in but lets you control it in a user friendly
web interface.
The Diagram below shows the basic flow of
how Geo Redirect works:

Step #1
Displays incoming internet traffic to your web site.
Step #2 (Then either step 3A, 3B or 3C is
excuted)
Displays Geo Redirect software which is installed
on your web site. Geo Redirect monitors all incoming
traffic to your web site entrance page. Depending
on what "redirect rules"
are set up the following options for Step #3 will
happen.
*redirect rules are user definable
rules of where to send surfers to. Rules can be set
up based upon Country, IP or Domain.
Step #3A
If there are no "redirect rules" defined
for incoming surfer/s they would pass on to your web
site like normal.
Step #3B
A "redirect" rule is set to send all users
coming from Germany to be redirected to another URL
on your web site. (The country Germany is used as
an example; you can redirect any country outside of
the US)
Incoming
traffic is examined by Geo Redirect on the fly and
if the user is a valid surfer from Germany he/she
will then be sent to another URL on your site that
you defined via a "redirect rule."
Why would I
want to redirect all users from Germany to another
page on my web site?
There
are many reasons to redirect users from other countries
to other parts of your web site here are a few examples:
You have a multi lingual site, and would like to automatically
redirect users from other countries to a web page
that matches their language.
You have a differnt tour you want to display to other
people from various countries which has additional
billing options for them.
Step
#3C
A "redirect rule" is set up to send surfers
defined by Country, IP or Domain to another web site.
For example we want to redirect all our German surfers
to another website or domain that can handle German
traffic better, but yet let all the other traffic pass
on to your web site.
Why
would I want to send my foreign traffic to another url?
The answer is pretty simple, to help generate additional
income off of traffic that your site cannot convert
to a sale.
For example
with Geo Redirect you can create a set of "redirect"
rules to send other users from other countries to
another affiliate or sponsor that can handle that
type of traffic and convert it for you, generating
them a sale and you additional income.
I’m sure
you can think of other reasons as well.
There can
be many redirect rules that can be defined and the above
one just mentions redirecting one Country (Germany)
to another URL. However you can redirect other countries
to other URLs as well. So you can send Germany traffic
to one URL/domain and Chinese traffic to another domain
etc.
Using
a combination of Step 3(A, B, C) will help you gain
control over your traffic and allow you to generate
additional income over otherwise wasted traffic.
Creating
a redirect is a very simple process with Geo Redirect,
you simply click on the Create Country Redirect link
in the admin menu, select a country you want to redirect
enter a URL/s and hit submit. See example screen shot
below.
